Development as a whole

The areas are not treated separately from one another but in relation to each other.

The headings below summarise the main learning areas of the kindergarten programme. The detailed weekly planning is shared with the class teachers.

Art

Painting, storytelling, creative play and drama are natural ways for children to express themselves. In the Art Studio, painting, sculpture and design work with natural materials is carried out with a focus on process.

The Music Studio offers rhythm, Orff and instrument experiences in the natural acoustics of an old lime kiln.

Exploratory play at the water and kitchen counter

Science and nature

Touching the soil, playing with water, observing living things and creating projects with natural materials are the first steps of scientific thinking. Children observe the life cycle through their relationship with the chicken and duck coop.

English

English is introduced in kindergarten through activities that are part of drama, music and play. Our school's foreign language programme is built around native English-speaking teachers who hold a bachelor's degree in English language teaching.

Life skills

The foundations of skills such as problem solving, cooperation, self-expression and taking responsibility are laid in daily life. Children experience taking responsibility for their own belongings, the environment they live in and the community they are part of.
